Innovative Workplace Nominee, YWCA Women of Distinction Awards

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

We’re thrilled to be an official nominee as an Innovative Workplace as part of YWCA Vancouver’s Women of Distinction Awards. At NOW we’ve done a lot to accommodate women and families at work, and it’s great to be recognized for those efforts. For our part, making work manageable for women and their families just seems like the right thing to do. After all, life is short, and work should be fun.
You can see the full list of nominees here, and check out the auspicious company we’ve landed in, with UBC, McCarthy Tetrault LLP, PwC, and Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers.

Manitoba Signature Award finalists

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Our team is pleased as punch to have developed the creative concepts for 2 of the 3 ads being considered at this year’s Signature Awards (in the “over $20K TV” category).

We always enjoy working with the Government of Manitoba’s communication team and we’re glad they are being recognized for the good work they do. “A lot of reasons” and “Stay out of gangs” tackled diabetes prevention and youth at risk of gang involvement. View them in the portfolio and let us know what you think.

NOW wins five Summit Creative Awards

Friday, July 17th, 2009

NOW Communications picked up five new awards this year in the Summit international creative competition.

Our campaign for the Saskatchewan Government Employees Union led the way with three awards, including a Silver Award for Best Television ad under $5,000.  The “Privatization Experiments”

TV spot also won Bronze in the Public Service TV category.

A second TV ad for the SGEU, “Innocent”, highlighting the work of Liquor Store employees, also brought home a Bronze award in the Public Service category.

Our radio spot for the Manitoba Government Employees’ Union “Sounds of Summer” drew attention to the importance of safe driving while highway maintenance crews are at work.  Jointly-sponsored by Manitoba broadcasters, the spot won Silver in the Public Service radio competition.

And our fall school board election brochure for the BC Teachers’ Federation won Bronze in the Political Collateral category.

The Summit International Awards (SIA) organization is dedicated to furthering excellence in the communications industry.  Throughout its fifteen-year history, the SIA has established itself as one of the premier arbiters of creative and communication excellence. Companies and individuals from more than 50 countries and five continents participate in the awards programs.

Summit Creative Awards recognize creative excellence in companies and individuals with billing under $30 million.

Congratulations Premier Dexter

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Today NOW Communications joins with people across Nova Scotia in celebrating the historic swearing-in of Premier Darrell Dexter and the first New Democratic Party government in Atlantic Canada.

We are proud to have provided strategic communications and advertising in each of the past five provincial election campaigns in Nova Scotia – building on the work of Alexa McDonough and Robert Chisholm – and working with an outstanding team of talented New Democrats committed to making life better for Nova Scotia families.

Today is historic, but as Premier Dexter told us on election night, “Where we stand at this moment is not where we stop. It’s where we start.”

Genuine leadership for today’s families. Let the change begin.

We’re the NOW team, and we approve of this message.
